Portrait Painting from Life: Two Day Portrait Workshop
14 + 15 April, 9am – 4pm, RQAS, Brisbane.
Enrich your skills and knowledge of portraiture with artist David Fenoglio. This two-day workshop provides students with an opportunity to study drawing and oil painting through observation of the live model. On the first day we will draw the portrait from life. The drawing will focus of proportion, gesture, and structure. The afternoon will involve colour mixing and a small colour study in oil paint. The second day will begin with a short painting demonstration by David from the model. The remainder of the day, students will paint the portrait from life under David’s guidance. Instruction includes both whole class and one-on-one tailored instruction.
This workshop is designed for students with some drawing and painting experience. If you have attended a previous portrait workshop with me this will be a good revision and we will be going a little more in depth that the one-day workshops. If you are new to portrait painting this will be a thorough introduction.
Max 10 students
Materials list will be sent shortly after booking.
Location: Royal Queensland Art Society, U3, 162 Petrie Tce, Brisbane, Qld.
